Mosaic Box Lid

1) Find an empty cardboard box

This may be an old shoebox , toy packaging or food packaging.

You may want to Paint the top of your lid - I liked the colour of the shoebox I used so I didn't paint it.

2) Think of a design for the top of your lid

This could be:

  • Your name

  • Your hobby

  • Your favourite sport

  • Your favourite animal

  • Your favourite place

3) Sketch out the design lightly on the top of the lid.

4) Cut coloured paper into little tiles - These will be used to fill your design.

5) place glue in a small area of your design and start to fill the area with the paper tiles. Once you have completed that area, add some more glue and keep adding the tiles.

By adding the glue in little bits, it stops the glue from drying out.

You Will Need:

  • Empty Box (for example, a shoebox)

  • coloured paper

  • Glue

  • Pencil
