Gaudi
Gaudi was a Mosaic artist and architect from Spain.
Architect = a person who designs buildings.
Most of his work can be found in Barcelona, or close by in Spain.
The artist was hugely inspired by nature and shapes, this is featured heavily throughout his artwork.
Some of his biggest projects include
- La Sagrada Familia - A big cathedral in Barcelona.
- Park Guell - A park which Gaudi designed and his mosaics can be seen throughout.
- Casa Batllo - A house that was owned by Joseph Batllo. Joseph gave creative freedom over to Gaudi whose designs and mosaics can still be seen in house today.
Sonia King
Sonia King is an American artist who creates mosaic artwork for galleries, buildings, and people's homes.
She uses tiles, stones, shells, glass, and gems to shape her artwork; these are all materials that she collects from around the world.
All of her artwork is created by hand, using hand
tools such as clippers (strong scissors) and
hammers to change and alter the shape of her
tiles to fit her project.
Maurice Bennett
Maurice Bennett is an artist from New Zealand who is best known for using toast to create his mosaic artwork! He makes the toast tiles different colours by toasting them to different shades and arranges them to form a design. He has created toast portraits of American president Barack Obama, and singer Elvis Presely.

Isaiah Zagar
Isaiah Zagar is an American mosaic artist whose work can be seen across over 200 walls in Philadelphia and beyond.
His largest project can be seen in Philadelphia's Magic Garden. The mosaics are in honour of quotes, poetry, people, animals, and other artists who have inspired him over the years. Within his mosaics, Isaiah used alternative materials such as old bottles and bike wheels.
Saimir Strati
Saimir Strati is an artist from Albania. He uses alturnative materials to create his mosaic masterpieces! He has used materials such as mirror pieces, cork, paint brushes, coffee beans, and toothpicks!
In 2007 Saimir created the worlds largest toothpick mosaic, using 1.5 million toothpicks to fill his horse design!
Elaine Goodwin
Elaine Goodwin is a British mosaic artist, who now lives in France, whose work is focused on representing light.
She uses materials that reflect light, such as gold, glass, and marble.
